The Whole Truth by David Baldacci

Nicholas Creel is filthy rich beyond imagination, philanthropic, an astute businessman, and doesn’t mind killing people. Dick Pender runs a perception management company, does Creel’s bidding, and manufactures the truth to fit his client’s needs. Shaw was orphaned and grew up learning to count on himself only. He reluctantly works for a little-known international law enforcement agency, traveling around the world to take out the bad guys. Katie James, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who fell from grace due to alcoholism, is trying to get her career back on track.

How and why these four main characters come together forms the basis for this well-written, too-close-to-the truth story of greed, revenge, love, hate and loneliness. It’s fast-paced, has plenty of action and includes the requisite surprise near the end. It’s another great story from this author.
