Lifeguard

Ned Kelly is not a dummy; he just tends to make bad choices. He lives in South Florida in the apartment above an extremely rich guy’s garage. He takes care of Sol’s pool and cars, works as a lifeguard at the beach, and bartends at night.

He met Tess out on the beach, thinks he’s found Ms. Right and dreams of a happy-ever-after with her. But first he’s got to help his cousin and three other lifelong friends steal some paintings from Dennis Stratton’s palatial estate.

The robbery goes awry, his friends are found executed and Tess is murdered. Quite a busy night in Palm Beach. Ned runs; the FBI art theft agent, Ellie, is after him; police everywhere are after him. After returning to Boston, from whence he came four years ago, he ends up back in Florida asking his former boss, one last friend and the FBI agent for help.

The misadventures of Ned, the crazy ideas plotted by Ellie and Ned, and Stratton’s vicious ways all make for a good story. The twists, turns and surprises pop up as usual.
