Black Water by T. Jefferson Parker Archie and Gwen Wildcraft have just returned home after celebrating her twenty-sixth birthday. Hes a county Sheriffs deputy; shes an artist and musician. They made big bucks on a stock deal and live well seemingly beyond their means. Archie hears a noise during the night and goes to check it out. The next thing he knows, hes waking up in the hospital, his wife is dead, and hes the prime suspect for her murder. Sergeant Merci Rayborn thinks Archie might be innocent; her partner isnt so sure. Then Archie disappears. Why was Gwen murdered? Will the real killers be found? This is the first book by this author that Ive read. A good portion of the story deals with Merci and her demons from a previous story. Its an OK story, but nothing great. Perhaps if I had read this authors books in order, Id have a better opinion of this particular book. Return to Index |
